Nothing dropped, at rates that usually drop things

LINTag streams tags off the instrument rather than buffering and hoping. Each of the eight inputs has an adjustable threshold and selectable impedance, and the transport is a full TCP/IP stack over 10G Ethernet.

For experiments that need lower latency than a network round trip allows, tags can be read straight off the FPGA through the embedded PC.

How to get started

From rack to first correlation

LINTag streams over Ethernet, so the host can be anywhere on the network.

1 Connect the detector outputs to the input channels.
2 Set the threshold and impedance for each channel.
3 Connect the 10G link to the host and give the instrument an address.
4 Start LINTag Capture and record.
Applications

Wherever the measurement is a timing correlation and the event rate is high enough that dropped tags would change the answer.

Measurement induced entanglement of stored ions

Stored ions are typical examples for single photon sources that show an antibunched emission statistics. However if two stored ions are brought in an entangled state by simply measuring, interesting phenomena occur.
